I needs the shoes.

I want to buy a new pair of Chucks, but I can’t decide which color to buy.

Candice has decided that she wants a pair of light blue low-tops, and since we can’t find them locally she’s going to buy them on the intarweb. I figure I might as well buy myself another pair too, since the shipping is flat-rate, but I’m having a hard time deciding which. I already have red, and will pick up a pair of black locally any day now, but I want to get something that is not available locally and which is not too candyish (read: that I’d wear regularly).

So, give me your opinion! This is not about what you would wear; this is about me. The control questions are not tests and no answer will disqualify you from participation, but this is not a democracy either. :-)

  1. thiscantbesoy feels strongly against a certain choice, and for good reason. Personally, I wear a lot of black, some leather, and pretty much exclusively black leather, but something about black leather Chucks still seems wrong to me.

I’ll amend my first control question answer by saying that I have worn but one pair of Chucks in my life. That sort of thing doesn’t jive too well if you’ve no arches.

  2. There is much to be said for insoles with arch supports! I still wear them without but will stop real soon now; stimps has always worn arch-support insoles with hers.

  3. cosmos’ one pair of shoes are black high top chucks. i have a pair of low top dark blue with a slight hint of glitter in them. mine were the latest colour… last year!

  4. I don’t even know what chucks are. Well, with my powers of deduction I’ve figured out that they might be shoes but… I don’t think I’m particularly useful here.

  5. I suspect it won’t help much since you’ve already seen pictures, but Converse “Chuck Taylor” All-Stars. Perhaps they don’t make it out of North America much?

  6. Thanks for the info. I mean, I won’t be using them with Chucks because they’re just not my style, but those inserts could well come in handy with other shoes when I have to walk a lot (hopefully soon).

Hey, you’re voting twice! Is that allowed?

  7. There’s a link right up there in the post, silly :-) I hid it well though, so here:

    http://www.chucktaylorallstars.com/chucks-shop.html

But that’s in Canada, and you probably aren’t. They do ship to the USA, though.

Because of strange wholesaler and importer things, there are sometimes out-of-production Chucks available in Canada, and I think the corduroy ones are like that, because I don’t even see them on Converse’s own web store anymore, so I imagine that’s your best bet.
