webcams and daylight cues

One big change with my new desk at work is that I don’t have a direct
line of sight to outside anymore. (I can sort of tell if it’s light or
dark out via my monitor mirror or the general office lighting, but I
miss subtleties that way.)

To fix this, I’ve got gkrellm running with its webcam module, and
two webcams, one big one of href="http://parliamenthill.gc.ca/text/newhillcam.jpg">Parliament
Hill downtown and another little traffic cam of href="http://webcam.city.ottawa.on.ca/trafficvideo/streams/s28/s19.jpg">March
Road very close to the office, that I can use to determine if the
sun is starting to set, or if it is clouding over, or snowing, and so
forth.

I’m not sure if this is resourceful or sad or both.

Why do you need to know if it’s light or dark? Wouldn’t a clock do fine? For telling time, anyway..

I vote for sad. If it even matters.
