For $20/month, you get more bandwidth than the entire South Pacific.[*]

Just to put things in perspective: At the very best available commercial rates, that same level of service in Vanuatu would cost roughly USD 12,000 per day.

Per Day.

[*] Fiji not included. Some assembly required.

But a day ago I was at Check your bandwidth page in the status section of the panel, you’ll see how fast it grows.

Dreamhost doesn’t support Shoutcast, just Quicktime streaming.

i think i might run a shoutcast stream!

I’ve never seen a shared-webhosting service that does, though. I think it might just be incompatible or at least inconvenient with shared multiuser hosting.

(What I’m really looking for is a good host that will let me host J2EE web-apps and such, since that’s what I do.)

I got that email a little while ago and have been basking in the ludicrous size and bandwidth I now command! I’m trying to figure out what I could possibly host that could even consume a measurable percentage of my limits…

I guess there’s always porn…
